2025 AFCON Qualifiers: Black Stars depart Ghana for Angola ahead of Matchday 5 game

Ghana's Black Stars have departed the country for Luanda, Angola, ahead of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group E Matchday 5 fixture against the Palancas Negras on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.

The team left Accra on Sunday morning aboard a chartered flight and is expected to arrive in Luanda later in the day. The Black Stars will hold their first training session in Luanda on Monday evening.

Ghana currently leads Group E with 10 points, followed by Angola with 7 points. A win for the Black Stars against Angola will seal their qualification for the 2025 AFCON tournament in Cameroon.

The Black Stars are expected to field a strong team for the match, with captain Andre Ayew, Thomas Partey, and Mohammed Kudus all expected to start. The team will be looking to continue their impressive form in the qualifiers, having won their first four matches.

Angola, on the other hand, will be looking to upset Ghana and keep their hopes of qualifying for the AFCON alive. The Palancas Negras have won two and drawn one of their four matches so far in the qualifiers.

The match between Ghana and Angola is scheduled to kick off at 4pm on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at the Estadio 11 de Novembro in Luanda. The match will be broadcast live on Supersport TV.
