Dawgs Win Inaugural Battle in Alaska Airlines Arena

Seattle Pacific Put Up a Tough Fight

After a sluggish start, the Washington Huskies men's basketball team pulled away in the second half to defeat the Seattle Pacific Falcons 75-56 in the inaugural game at Climate Pledge Arena. The Dawgs were led by Noah Williams, who scored a game-high 23 points. Emmitt Matthews Jr. added 17 points, and PJ Fuller II chipped in 12.

The Falcons kept the game close in the first half, trailing by just four points at halftime. But the Huskies turned up the defensive intensity in the second half, holding Seattle Pacific to just 28% shooting from the field. The Dawgs also dominated the boards, outrebounding the Falcons 45-30.

The victory was a much-needed one for the Huskies, who had lost their first two games of the season. It was also a good way to christen Climate Pledge Arena, which will be the home of the Seattle Kraken hockey team and the Seattle Storm WNBA team. The arena is a state-of-the-art facility that is sure to be a great venue for college basketball.

The Huskies will be back in action on Monday, November 14th, when they host the Montana Grizzlies at Climate Pledge Arena.
