They will be performing a mix of stand-up, sketch, and character comedy, and the winner will be chosen by a panel of judges including:
* Rosie Jones
* Mawaan Rizwan
* Suzi Ruffell
The BBC New Comedy Awards have been running since 1995, and have helped to launch the careers of some of the UK's biggest comedy stars, including Peter Kay, Lee Mack, and Sarah Millican. The winner of the 2023 award will receive a £1,000 cash prize, a development deal with BBC Studios, and a slot at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
The final is set to be a close-fought contest, with all seven finalists having impressed the judges during the heats. However, the winner will be the act that can best connect with the live audience and deliver a memorable performance.
