Champion of Champions Day Three predictions and betting tips: Neil Robertson ready to rumble

Robertson is the 8/15 favourite

The action continues in the Cazoo Champion of Champions with eight of the snooker elite left battling it out to win the first title of the new season. It promises to be a fascinating weekend of snooker at the University of Bolton Stadium, with the matches live on ITV4.

Friday sees the four quarter-finals taking place, and arguably the tie of the round on paper is Neil Robertson against Mark Williams.

Robertson is the 8/15 favourite to win the Champion of Champions, and with the Australian in such good form, we think he is solid value at that price.

Williams was beaten 4-1 by Robertson

Williams is a former two-time winner of the Champion of Champions, but he has not been in the best of form of late and was beaten 4-1 by Robertson in the first round of the UK Championship last month.

We can therefore see Robertson making light work of Williams in this best-of-11 match and booking his place in the semi-finals.

Other quarter-finals

The other three quarter-finals on Friday see Kyren Wilson take on Judd Trump, Mark Selby face Ronnie O’Sullivan and John Higgins play Zhao Xintong.

O’Sullivan has not been in great form of late so we are going to swerve betting on that match and instead look at the clash between Selby and Higgins.

Higgins has been in good form of late and we think he is overpriced at 15/8 to win this match, so that looks a good bet.

Semi-finals and final

The semi-finals and final of the Champion of Champions take place on Saturday and Sunday.

If Robertson and Higgins can both win their quarter-finals, then they will meet in the semi-finals, with O’Sullivan or Selby likely to be their opponent in the final.

Whoever ends up winning the tournament, it promises to be a fantastic weekend of snooker at the University of Bolton Stadium.
