Champions Trophy: PCB wants an explanation in writing from India for refusal to travel
PCB officials and fans took turns to lambast the BCCI
India's reluctance to travel to Pakistan for the ACC Asia Cup multi-nation tournament slated for the last week of August and first week of September has earned a strong reaction from Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials and former cricketers
The PCB has demanded a written explanation from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for withdrawing from this year's ACC Asia Cup, warning that it will take up the matter with the International Cricket Council (ICC) if it fails to receive a satisfactory response.
PCB chairman Ramiz Raja expressed his disappointment over the BCCI's decision, saying that the board had made a "unilateral decision" without consulting the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
Raja said that the PCB had already started working on the preparations for the tournament, which was to be held in Pakistan, and that the BCCI's decision had put the PCB in a difficult position.
Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi also criticized the BCCI's decision, saying that it was "not fair" to the PCB and the fans.
Afridi said that the BCCI's decision would have a negative impact on cricket in the region and that it would be difficult to hold future tournaments in Pakistan.
