Coronation Street fans 'rumble' Joel Deering's killer as exit confirmed - and they're not a suspect
Fans of Coronation Street are convinced that they have uncovered the identity of who will kill evil newcomer Joel Deering - and it's not a suspect who has been in the frame.
Viewers have been speculating for weeks about who will bump off the Bistro Bistro waiter - and even bookies Coral have been taking bets on the possibilities.
But eagle-eyed fans of the ITV soap are adamant that they have now worked it out after Nick Tilsley discovered a clue in Monday night's episode.
An envelope was found in Joel's bedroom - addressed to Leo Thompkins.
One viewer tweeted: "The mysterious letter sealed with a kiss...I think that's the Leo/Joel storyline sealed. I think Leo kills Joel #Corrie."
Another said: "I reckon that letter addressed to Leo in Joel's flat is going to play a big part in how Joel gets killed... #Corrie."
A third asked: "Why is there a letter for Leo in Joel's flat? Did he search Leos' stuff to find out more about him? #Corrie."
Joel arrived on the cobbles just a few weeks ago and has caused nothing but trouble.
He has upset Jacob Hay and Simon Barlow by showing them a video of Leanne Battersby after she first arrived on the street.
He then started sleeping with Amy Barlow and got her drunk.
The character has had run-ins with Billy Mayhew and even ex-copper Craig Tinker.
When Eileen Grimshaw found out about Amy and Joel, she went round to the Bistro and confronted him.
Joel reacted badly and pushed Eileen, who fell and ended up in hospital.
Nick attacked Joel as a result and he was arrested and charged with assault.
But Eileen later dropped the charges after her daughter begged her to because she was scared of what Joel might do.
Joel is set to leave the show in the next few weeks.
Actor Rory Douglas-Speed confirmed his exit on social media this week.
He tweeted: "Been a pleasure playing this nutter! Thanks to everyone for your support! #Corrie."
