DP World Tour Championship prize money: Rory McIlroy favourite at Race to Dubai finale
Rory McIlroy is the favourite to win the DP World Tour Championship, the final event of the Race to Dubai, with the top prize worth $3m, and the overall winner set to receive a bonus of $2m.
The tournament will take place at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai from November 17-20, with a prize fund of $10m.
McIlroy is the world number one and has already won three times on the DP World Tour this season, including the CJ Cup in South Korea in October. He is also the defending champion of the DP World Tour Championship.
Other contenders for the title include Jon Rahm, Scottie Scheffler, and Patrick Cantlay. Rahm is the world number two and has won twice on the DP World Tour this season, including the Spanish Open in May. Scheffler is the world number three and has won four times on the PGA Tour this season, including the Masters Tournament in April.
Cantlay is the world number four and has won twice on the PGA Tour this season, including the BMW Championship in September. The American is also the reigning FedEx Cup champion.
The Race to Dubai is a season-long competition on the DP World Tour, with the top 50 players in the rankings at the end of the season qualifying for the DP World Tour Championship. The winner of the Race to Dubai receives a bonus of $2m.
McIlroy is the current leader of the Race to Dubai standings, with 3,307 points. Rahm is second with 2,702 points, Scheffler is third with 2,372 points, and Cantlay is fourth with 2,166 points.
The DP World Tour Championship will be the final event of the 2022 DP World Tour season. The tournament will be played over four rounds, with the winner receiving a prize of $3m. The overall winner of the Race to Dubai will also receive a bonus of $2m.
