Fergus Tornado Receives EF0 Designation
Storm Survey Documents Damage from Saturday Storm
The National Weather Service in Grand Forks, North Dakota has completed its storm survey, and has designated the tornado that touched down near Fergus Falls, Minnesota on Saturday, July 29, 2023, as an EF0 tornado.
The tornado first touched down at 4:43 PM CDT near the Otter Tail County Fairgrounds, and traveled for 2.2 miles before lifting back into the clouds at 4:47 PM CDT near the intersection of Highway 210 and County Road 11. The tornado was on the ground for a total of 4 minutes.
The tornado caused damage to trees, power lines, and outbuildings. No injuries were reported.
The National Weather Service would like to remind everyone that tornadoes can happen anytime, anywhere. It is important to have a plan in place in case of a tornado warning.
