Five Ayrshire chippies among best in Scotland
Five Ayrshire chippies have been named among the best in Scotland in the 2023 Scottish Takeaway Awards.
The awards, which are voted for by the public, celebrate the best takeaways in Scotland, and this year, five Ayrshire chippies have made the top 20.
The chippies are:
- The Wee Hurrie, Ayr
- Nardini's, Irvine
- The Fish & Chip Company, Prestwick
- The Plaice to Be, Troon
- The Bay, Largs
The owners of the chippies were delighted to receive the news.
"We're so proud to have won this award," said the owner of The Wee Hurrie. "It's a testament to the hard work of our staff and the quality of our food."
"We're really grateful to our customers for voting for us," said the owner of Nardini's. "We're committed to providing the best possible fish and chips, and it's great to see that our efforts are being recognized."
The Scottish Takeaway Awards are now in their fifth year, and they continue to grow in popularity.
"We're delighted to see so many Ayrshire chippies making the top 20," said the awards organizer. "It shows that Ayrshire is a real hot spot for fish and chips."
The winners of the awards will be announced at a ceremony in Glasgow on 12th September.
