Hurley Optimistic About ASU Basketball Ahead of GCU Game
Sun Devils Coming Off of Big Win Against Washington State
ASU looking to build on momentum against GCU
Bobby Hurley is feeling good about his Arizona State basketball team heading into their game against Grand Canyon University on Friday night.
The Sun Devils are coming off of a big win against Washington State on Monday night, and Hurley said he was pleased with the way his team played.
"I thought we played really hard and together," Hurley said. "We made some big plays down the stretch, and we got a big win against a good team."
Hurley said he's hoping his team can build on that momentum against GCU, which is coming off of a win over Northern Arizona on Tuesday night.
"GCU is a good team," Hurley said. "They're well-coached, and they play hard. We're going to have to be ready to play our best game if we want to win.
The Sun Devils are 2-1 this season, with their only loss coming to No. 1 Gonzaga in the season opener.
Hurley said he's been happy with the way his team has played so far, but he knows there's still room for improvement.
"We're still a young team," Hurley said. "We're still learning how to play together. But I'm confident that we're going to get better as the season goes on."
