In Her First Week in Office: Dorothy Pérez Appoints New Regional Comptrollers

Newly sworn-in Comptroller of Puerto Rico Dorothy Pérez wasted no time filling key leadership positions in her agency's regional offices. Within her first week in office, Pérez appointed eight individuals to serve as regional comptrollers across the island:
Region 1 (San Juan): María del Carmen González
Region 2 (Bayamón): José A. Rodríguez
Region 3 (Arecibo): Carmen I. Rivera
Region 4 (Mayagüez): Luis A. Morales
Region 5 (Ponce): Juan C. López
Region 6 (Guayama): Ana M. Torres
Region 7 (Fajardo): Miguel A. Pérez
Region 8 (Caguas): Sandra I. Ortiz
The comptroller's regional offices are responsible for conducting audits and investigations of government agencies and municipalities within their respective regions. They play a crucial role in ensuring the proper use of public funds and promoting transparency and accountability in government operations.
Pérez expressed confidence in the abilities and experience of her appointees, stating that they "represent the best and brightest of Puerto Rico's financial professionals."
