Event to have more than 100 medal events
Los Angeles is scheduled to host the 2028 Summer Olympics, known as the LA28. Set to take place from July 14 to August 12, 2028, the LA28 will feature multiple aquatic events like swimming, diving, water polo, artistic swimming, and open water swimming. World Aquatics, the international governing body for these aquatic disciplines, is keen on ensuring that the LA28 will showcase the best of the sport.
In a recent interview, Brent Nowicki, the CEO of World Aquatics, revealed that the LA28 will expand the number of events for artistic swimming and diving. He also discussed the organization's efforts to make the event more inclusive and accessible.
"We're thrilled to be a part of the LA28. Los Angeles is an iconic city and we're confident that the LA28 will be a world-class event," Nowicki said. "The Games will feature more than 100 medal events and it's going to be a great opportunity to showcase the best of the sport."
