Kyshawn George News: Scores 15 Points in Loss
Kyshawn George, a freshman for the Oklahoma State Cowboys, had a standout performance despite the team's loss.
George led the Cowboys in scoring with 15 points, shooting 5-11 from the field and 3-6 from three-point range.
Despite his impressive performance, the Cowboys fell to the No. 12 Kansas Jayhawks 69-61 at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kansas, on Saturday afternoon.
George, a 6-foot-7 forward from Edmond, Oklahoma, has been a key contributor for the Cowboys this season, averaging 9.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
Against Kansas, George showed his versatility on the offensive end, scoring in a variety of ways.
He made a three-pointer from the right wing, drove to the basket for a layup, and also hit a fadeaway jumper from the baseline.
George also grabbed five rebounds and dished out two assists in the game.
Despite George's strong performance, the Cowboys were unable to overcome a slow start and a number of turnovers.
They trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half and never led in the game.
The loss dropped the Cowboys to 10-12 overall and 2-8 in Big 12 play.
They will return to action on Tuesday night when they host the Iowa State Cyclones at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
