Kyshawn George Scores 15 Points in Blue Devils Victory

Kyshawn George dropped 15 points to lead the No. 18 Duke Blue Devils to a 79-68 victory over the Villanova Wildcats Saturday at the Finneran Pavilion. George's scoring output was part of a balanced offensive attack for the Blue Devils, who improved to 15-4 overall and 6-2 in the ACC.

George's Performance

George, a 6-foot-8 sophomore forward, was efficient from the field, shooting 5-of-9 (55.6%) from the field and 2-of-3 (66.7%) from three-point range. He also contributed six rebounds, two assists, and two steals in a well-rounded performance.

George's scoring was particularly important in the second half, as he helped Duke pull away from Villanova. He scored eight points in the first eight minutes of the second half, including a pair of three-pointers, to give the Blue Devils a 10-point lead.

Villanova's Effort

Villanova, now 11-8 overall and 4-4 in the Big East, was led by Caleb Daniels' 18 points. Brandon Slater added 16 points, while Cam Whitmore chipped in 13 points.

The Wildcats battled hard throughout the game, but they were unable to overcome a cold shooting night. Villanova shot just 38.3% (23-of-60) from the field and 28.6% (8-of-28) from three-point range.

The victory was a big one for Duke, who snapped a two-game losing streak. It also marked the Blue Devils' first win over a ranked opponent this season. Duke will look to build on this momentum when they host No. 14 Virginia on Tuesday night.
