LeBron James Makes Scotty Pippen Jr. Statement Before Lakers-Grizzlies

James talks up Pippen Jr. before Friday night’s matchup in Memphis

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James gave high praise to Memphis Grizzlies guard Scotty Pippen Jr. ahead of Friday night’s matchup between the two teams.

“He’s a great young player, the NBA is a family,” James said of Pippen Jr. “His father was one of the greatest to ever play the game, so obviously I know Scotty and I respect his game. He’s going to be a really good player for a long time. I’m looking forward to the matchup.”

Pippen Jr. is the son of Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen and has quickly become one of the most promising young players in the NBA. He is averaging 10.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game this season.

The Lakers and Grizzlies are both fighting for playoff position in the Western Conference. The Lakers are currently in ninth place with a record of 25-29, while the Grizzlies are in eighth place with a record of 27-26.

The game between the Lakers and Grizzlies is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m. CT on Friday night in Memphis.
