A magnitude 4.0 earthquake shook the department of North of Santander in the afternoon of this Tuesday, February 28, 2023, according to the report of the Colombian Geological Service.

The epicenter of the telluric movement was located 12 kilometers southwest of the municipality of Puerto Santander, at a depth of 150 kilometers.

The earthquake was felt in the metropolitan area of Cúcuta and several municipalities of the department, causing fear among the population but no reports of damage or injuries so far.

The authorities recommend maintaining calm and following the instructions of the Civil Defense and the Colombian Geological Service.
