Man Fatally Stabbed in Downtown S.F. — BART Embarcadero Station Temporarily Closed
Victim Identified, Suspect Still at Large
A man was fatally stabbed in downtown San Francisco on Tuesday evening, and the BART Embarcadero station was temporarily closed as police investigated the incident.
The victim has been identified as 27-year-old San Francisco resident James Golphin. The suspect is still at large.
According to police, the stabbing occurred at around 6:30 p.m. in the area of Market and Spear streets. Golphin was walking with a friend when he was approached by the suspect, who stabbed him multiple times in the chest.
BART Embarcadero Station Reopens
The BART Embarcadero station reopened at around 8:30 p.m. after being closed for about two hours.
Police are still investigating the motive for the stabbing. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the SFPD at (415) 553-1234.
