Sergeant Mark Wagner Rescues Drivers from Icy Water
Officer Wagner's Quick Thinking Saves Lives
On Tuesday, January 17, 2023, Monroe County Sheriff's Office Sergeant Mark Wagner responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 94 near mile marker 253 in the town of Tomah.
When Wagner arrived at the scene, he found two vehicles submerged in icy water. One vehicle was on its roof, and the other was partially submerged.
Wagner immediately entered the icy water and rescued the drivers from both vehicles. The drivers were transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation.
Monroe County Sheriff Wes Revels praised Wagner's actions, saying, "Sergeant Wagner's quick thinking and decisive action saved the lives of these two drivers. His bravery and dedication to duty are commendable."
