Philadelphia Rowhouse Fire Leaves One Dead, Displaces Several
Firefighters battled a two-alarm blaze in Kensington that left one person dead and displaced several others.
The fire broke out just before 11 p.m. Sunday in a rowhouse on the 2900 block of Ruth Street, the Philadelphia Fire Department said.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire coming from the first and second floors of the building. They quickly worked to extinguish the blaze, with the situation under control within about an hour.
One person was found dead inside the home. Several other people were displaced by the fire, the Red Cross said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
