Racine Man Arrested After Fleeing Officers in Juneau County

Suspect Faces Multiple Charges, Including Felony Eluding and Hit-and-Run

A 29-year-old Racine man faces multiple charges, including felony eluding and hit-and-run, after leading officers on a high-speed chase through Juneau County on Wednesday.

According to the Juneau County Sheriff's Office, the incident began at approximately 9:30 p.m. when a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation near Mauston. The driver, later identified as the suspect, failed to yield and fled the scene.

The suspect led officers on a chase that reached speeds of over 100 mph on Interstate 90/94 and Highway 12. During the pursuit, the suspect's vehicle struck a squad car and continued to flee. The deputy in the squad car sustained minor injuries.

The chase ended near the village of Camp Douglas when the suspect's vehicle became disabled. He was taken into custody without further incident.

The suspect was identified as Marcus Jones of Racine. He was charged with felony eluding, hit-and-run causing injury, and reckless driving. He is currently being held in the Juneau County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond.
