SIXERS SET FOR HEAT
Wrigley added to 23-man squad for Manchester clash
Coach Sean Wrigley has been added to the Giants 23-man squad for Saturday's Betfred Super League clash with Hull FC at the MKM Stadium (3pm).
The 20-year-old forward has been in impressive form for Huddersfield's Reserves in recent weeks, scoring two tries in the win over Warrington last month. He has also made a number of appearances for the Giants' first team this season, including in the Challenge Cup win over Salford Red Devils.
Wrigley's inclusion in the squad is a further boost to Huddersfield, who have been hit by a number of injuries in recent weeks. Coach Ian Watson will be without the services of Chris Hill, Jack Ashworth, Sam Hewitt and Oliver Wilson for the trip to Hull, but he will be able to call upon the experience of Lee Gaskell, who has returned to the club after a spell on loan at Wakefield Trinity.
Watson said:
"Sean has been playing really well for the Reserves and he deserves his chance in the first team. He's a good young player with a bright future and I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do."
The Giants will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing defeat to Wigan Warriors last week. Watson's side were beaten 34-18 at the DW Stadium and will be keen to make amends against Hull, who are currently bottom of the Super League table.
Hull have lost their last four matches and will be without the services of Jake Connor, who is suspended. However, the Giants will still need to be wary of the threat posed by the likes of Josh Reynolds, Liam Sutcliffe and Joe Lovodua.
Watson said: "Hull are a good team and they will be dangerous, especially at home. We need to be at our best to get the win."
