Student Arrested for Attempting to Smuggle Meth Through LAX
College student was arrested at LAX for allegedly trying to smuggle meth-soaked T-shirts
The suspect, a 22-year-old male, was arrested after Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers found the drugs hidden in a secret compartment of his suitcase. The T-shirts were soaked in liquid methamphetamine, a highly addictive stimulant. The student was reportedly attempting to transport the drugs from Los Angeles to Boston.
According to the TSA, the student's suitcase was randomly selected for additional screening. During the screening, TSA officers discovered a hidden compartment in the suitcase that contained several T-shirts soaked in liquid. The T-shirts were then tested and confirmed to contain methamphetamine.
The student was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. He is currently being held in federal custody pending a trial.
