Teledyne FLIR Wins Major Army Contract for Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Reconnaissance Vehicles

Thousand Oaks, Calif. – June 8, 2023 – Teledyne FLIR, part of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE: TDY), announced today that it has been awarded a contract from the United States Army to provide M1135 Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Reconnaissance Vehicles (NBCRVs).

The M1135 NBCRV is a highly specialized vehicle designed to detect and identify chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) threats on the battlefield. It is equipped with a suite of advanced sensors and equipment that allow it to operate in a variety of environments and conditions.

Teledyne FLIR has a long history of providing CBRN detection and identification systems to the U.S. military. The company's M22 Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Detector is the standard issue CBRN detector for the U.S. Army, and its M40A1 Gas Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometer is used by the U.S. Marine Corps to identify chemical warfare agents.

Teledyne FLIR will begin production of the M1135 NBCRV systems immediately. The contract has a potential value of $40 million over five years.
