Italian dominant in straight-sets win at ATP Finals
Top seed Jannik Sinner has opened his ATP Finals campaign with an assured 6-4, 6-3 victory over Taylor Fritz in Turin. The Italian was in commanding form throughout the match, breaking Fritz's serve four times to seal the win in straight sets.
Sinner's strong start
Sinner started the match strongly, breaking Fritz's serve in the very first game. The Italian held his own serve comfortably, and broke Fritz again in the seventh game to take a commanding 5-2 lead. Fritz managed to hold serve in the eighth game, but Sinner served out the set to love in the ninth game.
Fritz fights back
Fritz started the second set more brightly, and broke Sinner's serve in the third game. However, Sinner broke back immediately, and then broke Fritz again in the seventh game to take a 5-3 lead. Fritz saved two match points in the eighth game, but Sinner served out the match in the ninth game.
Sinner's dominance
Sinner was dominant throughout the match, hitting 25 winners to Fritz's 13. The Italian also won a higher percentage of points on both his first and second serve. Fritz struggled to find his rhythm on serve, and was broken four times by Sinner.

Sinner will now face Andrey Rublev in his second group match on Tuesday. Fritz will face Rafael Nadal in his second group match on Monday.
