‘Full House’ Star Reveals Aggressive Cancer Diagnosis
Candace Cameron Bure, best known for her role as D.J. Tanner on the sitcom, reveals she has been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer.
Bure shared the news with her fans in an emotional Instagram post on Tuesday, writing that she has been “living with this for the past year and a half.”
“I’m so grateful for my family and friends who have been there for me every step of the way,” she wrote. “I’m also grateful for the doctors and nurses who have helped me get through this.”
Bure said she is still undergoing treatment and is “determined to fight this.”
“I know that I have a long road ahead of me, but I’m not going to give up,” she wrote. “I’m going to keep fighting.”
Bure’s diagnosis has come as a shock to her fans and friends.
“I’m so sorry to hear this,” wrote one fan on Instagram. “You’re such a strong woman, and I know you can beat this.”
“My thoughts and prayers are with you,” wrote another fan.
Bure’s diagnosis is a reminder that cancer can strike anyone, regardless of age or gender.
According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States, with an estimated 281,550 new cases and 43,600 deaths in 2021.
The good news is that breast cancer is also one of the most treatable forms of cancer, with a five-year survival rate of 90% or higher for women who are diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.
Bure’s diagnosis is a reminder that it is important to get regular mammograms and to be aware of the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.
If you are diagnosed with breast cancer, there are a number of resources available to help you through your treatment and recovery.
The American Cancer Society offers a variety of support services, including information on treatment options, financial assistance, and emotional support.
