Ichiko Aoba announces new LP & 2025 tour, shares "Luciférine"

Ichiko Aoba has announced her new album, "Labyrinths," out on April 26 via Western Vinyl.

The Japanese singer-songwriter has also shared the lead single, "Luciférine," which arrives with a stunning new video.

Aoba's first new album since 2019's "Windswept Adan," "Labyrinths" was recorded in Tokyo and mixed in New York. The album features guest appearances from harpist Aska, cellist Okkyung Lee, and pianist Ryuichi Sakamoto.

"'Labyrinths' is a record about the complexities of the human heart," Aoba says. "It's about the ways we can lose ourselves in our thoughts and feelings, and the ways we can find our way back to ourselves."

The lead single, "Luciférine," is a beautiful and haunting ballad that showcases Aoba's unique vocal style and her ability to create songs that are both personal and universal.

The video for "Luciférine" was directed by Aoba and features stunning visuals that perfectly complement the song's mood.

Aoba will also be touring in support of the new album, with dates scheduled in Japan, Europe, and North America. The tour will begin in Tokyo on April 29 and will conclude in New York on May 25.

Tickets for the tour go on sale on Friday, February 10 at 10am local time.
