I’ll Be Clinical to Silence Celtic Park Jeers – Morelos
Alfredo Morelos insists he will thrive off any hostility which comes his way at Celtic Park on Sunday.
The Colombian striker knows he will be the target of abuse from the home support but is confident he can silence the crowd by scoring in front of them.
Morelos has scored 119 goals in 238 appearances for Rangers and has a knack of rising to the occasion. The 26-year-old scored in both Old Firm matches last season, including a dramatic injury-time equaliser at Celtic Park.
Morelos is aware of the atmosphere which awaits him on Sunday but is relishing the chance to play in front of a hostile crowd.
“I know what to expect at Celtic Park,” he said. “The fans are very passionate and they will try to make it difficult for us. But I thrive off that kind of atmosphere. I love playing in big games and I’m confident I can score in front of them.”
Morelos’ Rangers team-mate John Lundstram believes the striker is the perfect player to lead the line against Celtic.
“Alfredo is a big-game player,” said Lundstram. “He loves scoring goals and he’s always a threat to the opposition. He’s going to be key for us on Sunday.”
Rangers will be looking to get off to a winning start in the Scottish Premiership when they travel to Celtic Park on Sunday. The match is live on Sky Sports.
