About the Challenge

Paddy McGuinness will put himself through a gruelling week-long cycling challenge in a bid to raise money for Children in Need.

The TV presenter will set off on a mammoth journey from BBC Scotland in Glasgow, to BBC Broadcasting House in London, cycling for up to 12 hours a day.

He will then spend the final night sleeping rough in Trafalgar Square, before completing the challenge on the morning of the BBC Children in Need Appeal Show.

Day 1: Glasgow to Stirling Castle

Paddy will cycle around 34 miles to Stirling Castle, with the route taking in the scenic Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.

He will be joined by adventurer and TV presenter Ben Fogle, who will be on hand to offer support and encouragement.

Paddy's progress can be followed live on the Children in Need website and social media channels.

Day 2: Stirling Castle to Barnard Castle

The second day will see Paddy cycle around 60 miles to Barnard Castle in County Durham.

The route will take in the rolling hills of the Scottish Borders and the North Pennines.

Paddy will be joined by former footballer Robbie Savage, who will be providing commentary and analysis.

Day 3: Barnard Castle to York

On day three, Paddy will cycle around 50 miles to York.

The route will take in the historic city of Ripon and the Yorkshire Dales.

Paddy will be joined by comedian Jason Manford, who will be providing entertainment and keeping spirits high.

Day 4: York to Nottingham

The fourth day will see Paddy cycle around 65 miles to Nottingham.

The route will take in the historic city of Lincoln and the Sherwood Forest.

Paddy will be joined by singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, who will be performing a special concert for the cyclists.

Day 5: Nottingham to Cambridge

On day five, Paddy will cycle around 70 miles to Cambridge.

The route will take in the historic city of Peterborough and the Fens.

Paddy will be joined by TV presenter Davina McCall, who will be providing support and motivation.

Day 6: Cambridge to London

The sixth day will see Paddy cycle around 50 miles to London.

The route will take in the historic city of St Albans and the Olympic Park.

Paddy will be joined by a host of celebrities, including Radio 2 Breakfast Show host Chris Evans, who will be cycling alongside him.

Day 7: Trafalgar Square Sleep Out

On the final night of the challenge, Paddy will spend the night sleeping rough in Trafalgar Square.

He will be joined by a group of young people who have been supported by Children in Need.

The sleep out will be broadcast live on the BBC Children in Need website and social media channels.

Day 8: London to BBC Broadcasting House

On the final day of the challenge, Paddy will cycle the remaining 8 miles to BBC Broadcasting House in London.

He will be joined by a group of cyclists from across the UK, who have also been fundraising for Children in Need.

Paddy will finish the challenge live on the BBC Children in Need Appeal Show.
