McCoist Branded a Wind-Up Merchant Over Postecoglou Claim as Tottenham Shock Jock Insists Angeball Is Burst
Celtic legend Ally McCoist has been branded a "wind-up merchant" by a Tottenham Hotspur shock jock after claiming Ange Postecoglou's high-energy style of football is "burst".
During an appearance on talkSPORT, McCoist suggested that Postecoglou's "Angeball" approach, which has brought Celtic great success in recent months, is no longer effective.
The former Rangers striker said: "I think Ange Postecoglou has been found out. I think teams have worked out how to play against Celtic. I think the Angeball thing is burst."
However, McCoist's comments have been met with derision by Tottenham Hotspur fan and talkSPORT host, Ally Gold.
Gold, who is known for his outspoken views, branded McCoist a "wind-up merchant" and insisted that Postecoglou's Celtic are still a force to be reckoned with.
He said: "Ally McCoist is just a wind-up merchant. He's just trying to get a reaction. Celtic are still playing great football and they're still winning games. Angeball is not burst, it's just getting started."
Celtic currently sit top of the Scottish Premiership, nine points clear of bitter rivals Rangers, and have lost just one game in all competitions this season.
Postecoglou's side have also impressed in the Champions League, taking four points from their opening two group games against Real Madrid and Shakhtar Donetsk.
It remains to be seen whether McCoist's comments will prove to be prophetic, but for now, Celtic continue to march on under Postecoglou's leadership.
