Spain: Many drowned, missing as severe flooding hits southern Spain

At least three people have died and another three are missing after torrential rain caused flash floods in southern Spain.

The flooding in the Andalusian province of Malaga has caused widespread damage, with roads and bridges washed away and homes and businesses destroyed.

Emergency services are still searching for the missing people, and the death toll is expected to rise.

The flooding was caused by heavy rain that fell over a short period of time, overwhelming drainage systems and causing rivers to burst their banks.

The worst-hit areas are the towns of Alora, Alhaurin el Grande and Pizarra, where the water reached a height of several meters in some places.
