UT Arlington Mavericks Fall to USC Trojans in Exhibition Game
Arlington, Texas – The UT Arlington Mavericks men’s basketball team fell to the USC Trojans in an exhibition game on Tuesday night at the College Park Center. The Trojans, who are ranked No. 15 in the preseason AP Top 25 poll, defeated the Mavericks 85-68.
The Mavericks were led by senior guard David Azore, who scored 17 points. Junior forward Kaodirichi Akobundu-Ehiogu added 12 points, and sophomore guard Shahada Wells chipped in 11 points. The Trojans were led by senior guard Boogie Ellis, who scored 22 points. Junior forward Tre White added 15 points, and senior guard Drew Peterson scored 14 points.
The Mavericks shot just 38.3% from the field, including 28.6% from three-point range. The Trojans shot 47.1% from the field, including 38.5% from three-point range. The Trojans also outrebounded the Mavericks 42-29.
The Mavericks will open their regular season on Monday, November 7, when they host the McNeese State Cowboys at the College Park Center.
